Katharine Hamnett is a British designer best known for creating the 'slogan' t-shirt and her interest in political activism. Gaining prominence in the 1980s after adorning white tees with text that read "CHOOSE LIFE", "CLEAN UP OR DIE" and "SAVE THE WORLD" for bands like Wham!, Katharine pushed for sustainability, human rights, environmental protection and social justice during her tenure as an independent creative.
