00s Prada Sport ‘Linea Rossa’ Goggle Motorcycle Helmet

In 1984, Miuccia Prada debuted the now infamous nylon backpack. For the first time, a luxury lightweight travel bag drew from the same industrial-strength synthetics used for Italian army tents and parachutes as a must-have accessory. Differing from the heights of luxury to embark on a nylon, tech-centric hiatus, Prada shocked the industry with a revolutionary approach to traditional luggage, while sparking her want “to mix the industrial way of doing things, with the patrimonio of the past, with the artisanal tradition.” As a result, almost a decade later in 1998, Prada would officially debut her ‘Sport’ line, revolutionizing our perceptions of opulence through a trope of function. Among the likes of Dior, Issey and Burberry Sport, Prada would approach the niche with an innovative mindset, blending the clean lines of a tailored suit with the rigid, modern physic of an Arc’teryx jacket. Modernizing the fashion circuit, she’d inaugurate a new era of design, blending utility and chic.

 

Debuting in the early 2000s under the Prada Sport label, this incredibly rare motorcycle helmet comes in a full black, glossy exterior. Accented by Linea Rossa cherry red accents, Prada detailing sits etched into the metallic chin strap, among the the back goggle loop. With squared lens’, the helmet fits all, in good condition aside from deterioration and a bit of crumbling on the interior fabric.
