00s Vivienne Westwood ‘Heart’ Motif Pleated Button Up Shirt

Vivienne Westwood is widely regarded as the mother of punk and one of the world’s greatest activists. Born Twintwistle, England, over the course of her 51 year design career, she used her platform to target numerous political figures and social issues, from outfitting and aiding in the Sex Pistols’ arrest at the Queen’s jubilee to driving a white tank directly towards David Cameron’s house to protest fracking. Throughout her career, Westwood notoriously opened a ‘Sex’ shop on Kings Road, promoted her Seditionaries line which provoked many grotesque motifs like Swastikas in an attempt to strip each of their culture value and yet continuously maintained her esteemed design portfolio. Having solemnly passed at the ripe age of 81 in 2022, her legacy lives on through her actions and cultural influence.

 

Debuting in the 2000s era, this extremely rare ‘heart’ shirt comes in a draping textile. Adorned atop the chest, the pleated symbol is accented by warm toned ‘Orb’ button hardware and a slim cut collar. Finished with darting throughout, the unique top is in great condition aside from a touch of discolouration on the back, tagged as a size 40 or size medium.
