00s Yohji Yamamoto S’YTE ‘Do’s and Don’t’ Poem Long Sleeve

After 50 years since establishment, Yohji Yamamoto still reigns as the king of black. Provoking the anti-fashion movement throughout the 70’s alongside romantic partner and designer, Rei Kawakubo, Yamamoto has worked and succeeded in redefining contemporary fashion. In use of billowing silhouettes, the core constructs of the designer’s process ring true to his roots, compounding in development over decades of refinement. Yamamoto - still chief of design, continues to bring inventive, intriguing, yet distant walks atop the runway, garnering a cult-like following as a result of such.

 

Debuting in the early 2000s era, this black long sleeve speaks to a cornerstone of Yamamoto’s design; poetry. Reading “Too many do’s and don’ts, I’d rather have not been born. No smoking! No littering! No polluting! No living!”, the Japanese designer expels angst in a rule driven world. Creating contrast with bold white lettering, the bellowing black silhouette features an elongated torso and dagger collar to pair. Tagged as a size extra-large, it’s in pristine condition throughout.
