1960s Whitesville ‘Gun Slinger’ Leather Chenille Patched Varsity Jacket
While rather unknown, Whitesville sits among the heights of Japanese sportswear. Through the 1940s-60s the production company would release an array of Japanese takes on Western baseball jackets and apparel. Travelling to the East for deployment, American soldiers would inadvertently popularize the silhouettes once back home, building notoriety around the label. Despite such efforts the label would be abandoned years later, only to be to be revived by Toyo Enterprises in 2007. Since, the label has amassed hysteria in the underground Japanese scene, making varsity-style silhouettes extremely lucrative.
Debuting in the 1950-60s era, this letterman jacket features a wide array of patchwork and embroidery detailing. Atop a grey base sits white leather sleeves, complimented by a chenille Silver Spurs emblem, pistol detailing, and a state outline on the chest. In a chenille material, arched lettering reads ‘Silver Spurs Club’, just above an armed cowboy. Finalized with ribbed, striped hems, tagged as a size 40 or large, in great condition throughout.
