2004 Chanel Sport ‘Ski’ Black Logo Neon Full-zip Jacket

$1,985.00Price
  • Dating back to the 1920s, Chanel Sport is widely regarded as one of the most influential lines in the long history of luxury sportswear. Aside from the maison’s brief venture into ski attire in the early 20th century, our first glimpse of the official sub-label debuted in the late 90’s under direction of Karl Lagerfeld. At the time, nylon was a trending textile in which Chanel embraced, crafting vests, jerseys, fanny packs and ski jackets from the versatile textile. While unfamiliar, this new age of design intrigued many, prompting a series of other high fashion labels to innovate through an athletic scope. Miu Miu unveiled their sports line in the Autumn of 1999, and was backed by Prada’s ‘Linea Rossa’ namesake, making it clear that ‘athleisure’ was here to stay. It wouldn’t be until the Autumn of 2001 that Chanel would debut a complete ski collection however, bringing earmuffs layered atop down fill puffers and transparent goggles, quilted skis and a coveted snowboard. Gloves, snow pants, and helmets walked in a chic, unprecedented manner, cementing the brand’s heterogeneous identity in both the powdered slopes and Parisian couture circuit.

Debuting in the 2004 Chanel Sport collection, this iconic ski jacket comes complete with exaggerated rubberized shoulders and a sleek black silhouette. Fit with Chanel lettering down the zippered torso and branded hardware throughout, a high neck is accented by neon detailing on either arm and sealed welt pockets. Fitting tight to the body, this jacket is in pristine condition throughout, tagged as a size extra small or 36.
