Oakley’s iconic ‘Thump’ silhouette debuted in November of 2004, changing the course of eyewear forever. Bringing a dynamic soundscape to the glasses industry, the sportswear manufacturer would be a first in their field to integrate portable earbuds, a rechargeable battery and onboard solid state flash memory into a pocket sized silhouette. Equipped with the “world’s greatest polarized lenses” and 6 hours of playback on the base model, each earbud is also capable of pivoting to the user’s desired fit, while maintaining a sleek, subtle appearance. Retailing at $500, the Thumps were truly an innovation in their field and remain as one of Oakley’s greatest feats of engineering.
Debuting in 2005, these Thumps feature a blue tint, black frame and uniquely hinged flip-up lenses which first debuted in this 1.5 Generation model. Adorned with a silver Oakley logo on the temple, each arm is fitted with pivoting earbuds and a battery / memory drive, framing the face effortlessly. Finished with rimless lenses and a 256MB storage, they’re in pristine condition throughout.
