Debuting in the late 90’s, a series of hamster fur garments were released under the Prada label, including a full length trench, lined winter coat, backpacks and more. Although unusual, the practice was reinterpreted by Gucci in the Fall of 2000, and again under the Prada Sport label years later. Luxury fur and extremities of such have long, rooted history in the fashion sphere and still prosper as a symbol of affluence today.
A derivative of the “Cricetus Cricetus” or black bellied hamster, the European rodents are celebrated for their soft fur and symmetric patterns. Embellished on the top loading textile, three hamsters are staggered in a uniform medium, contrasting against the leather accents and metallic clasps. The adjustable sling comes in a soft brown colour way, while the crossbody is finalized with the signature Prada Sport motif. In great condition throughout aside from light use.
