C.P Company is an Italian sportswear label founded by Massimo Osti in 1975. Inspired by workwear and militaristic themes, the designer aimed to blend utility with everyday wear, speaking to future works from creatives like Helmut Lang. With innovation at its core, C.P Company stands as a pioneer in the practice of object dying, use of the gabardine textile and inventor of the ‘google’ jacket. The brand portrays a counterpart to Osti’s sub-label, Stone Island, which was founded seven years after C.P’s induction as well. Through experiment and a continued allegiance to the future of wearable technology, C.P Company continues to push forth, opening eyes to fashion’s ever nearing future.
The ‘goggle’ jacket comes as a successor to Osti’s original design, the ‘explorer’ cut. Initially placing lens’ on the garment’s extended collar, this piece, among further investigation into the military grade protective hoods, would spark inspiration for the famed ‘goggle’ silhouette. Reinforcing either lens, anti-gas goods in pair with the Swiss’ multifunctional field would to birth the world’s first goggle overcoat in 1987. While slightly altered, the jacket shown retains utmost historical accuracy to Osti’s base design. Featuring removable lens’ on the brim among snap closer buttons and two massive linear cargo pockets on the chest, a heavy weight cotton is complimented by a metallic accents throughout. Tagged as a size small, in great condition.
