90s Hysteric Glamour ‘Naked Woman’ Showgirl Embroidered Varsity Jacket

Hysteric Glamour was founded by Nobuhiko “Nobu” Kitamura in 1984. Since, the Japanese label has retained a stark relevancy between the luxury and streetwear market, surging to higher heights in recent years. The designer humbly began his career at the youth-oriented fashion brand “Ozone Community” and would become obsessed Western culture as a result. With newfound inspiration, Nobu would disband from his position at Ozone to embark on an solo journey, establishing “Hysteric Glamour” as his namesake label. Amassing a cult-like following in the local Harjuku scene, Kitamura would expand outwards as his empire grew, refining his taste in Americana traditions.

 

In recent years, Hysteric Glamour has differed from such provoking tropes that once defined the label. Back in the 90s, it wasn’t uncommon to stumble across motifs that glorified drug abuse and sexual themes (hence the name). However, in an effort to amass a wider audience, these symbols have become increasingly sparse, making uncensored jackets like shown incredibly lucrative. Featuring a nude show girl on the backside of the varsity jacket, white leather sleeve accent a black wool base. Fit with chenille spell out ‘Hysteric Glamour’ patches and a boxy cut, white button snap hardware then finishes the overcoat. Fitting a size large, in pristine condition throughout.
