90s Jean Paul Gaultier ‘Holy Trinity’ Mesh Tattoo Longsleeve

$385.00Price
  • Founding his menswear label years later in 1984, Jean Paul Gaultier was plagued as “l’enfant terrible” for his outlandish, inexcusable designs. Consciously reconstructing our vision of beauty, he experimented without remorse, drawing inspiration from from taboo fetishes and romanticizing femininity in the menswear realm. Utilizing rebellious textiles, Gaultier conveyed his message through inventive mediums, popularizing the mesh full print silhouette. Stomping on guidelines in pursuit of creative expression, Gaultier is now hailed as a fashion forefather and true Magnus opus in his field.

Debuting in the 90s era, this mesh violet longsleeve depicts three intertwined silhouettes. Just beneath the neckline sits the work’s centrepiece, a woman’s side profile, who appears to gaze off into the distance. Below sit two men, one of which stares directly towards the audience, and the other who shares the same gaze at the woman. Lacking context of any sort, we can only speculate what these seemingly religious figures work to depict. To finish, on the underside, the sleeves feature a two tone pattern, among a wrapping graphic. In pristine condition throughout, tagged as a size medium.
