  • One of the renowned members of the Antwerp Six, Ann Demeulemeester launched her namesake brand in 1985, shortly after graduating from The Royal Academy of Fine Arts in 1981. As one of the first designers ever to have men and women walk cohesively in a runway show, Demeulemeester’s work has pioneered androgynous style through her bodies of effortlessly minimalistic, yet elegant work. With over 30 years of persistent effort, the designer has established a portfolio examining the intricacies of textiles, focusing on minute features until satisfied. In doing so, the designer has achieved an illustrious persona, now considered a fashion forefather and highly respected individual.

Known for her footwear, Ann Demeuelemeester is tentative in silhouette and quality, reaching for only the most prestigious textiles. Exemplified in the calfskin leather boots shown, a gradient shift between hues of blood red and deep black flows throughout, elevated on a half inch heel. The blotched effect gives a worn down look, as if the colour is merely seeping out of the upper in an asymmetric manner. Gorgeous paneling and a rubberized sole then comprises the remainder of the boot, industrial grade stitching holding the hems together with prominence. In like new condition, tagged as a slightly oversized 39 IT / 6.5 US.
