AW01 Comme des Garçons ‘Split’ Logo Hooded Work Jacket
Founded by Rei Kawakubo in 1969, Comme Des Garçons has continuously reigned supreme in avant-garde design. Playing a critical role in the birth of the 1970’s anti-fashion movement, over five decades later the label remains at the forefront of media and consumer’s attention. Establishing her menswear line in 1978 under namesake “Homme Plus”, Kawakubo walked her first collection in Paris just 3 years later. The masculine sub-genre would become highly celebrated for its inordinate takes on the male silhouette and eventually rise to notoriety of its own. Today, Homme Plus resides as distinct component of the Comme Des Garçons universe, in which Rei Kawakubo remains at the helm of.
Debuting in the Autumn of 2001, this work jacket sports the famed ‘split’ logo in a two tone medium. Crafted from a heavyweight cotton base, the royal blue lettering is separated between metallic zipper pull hardware, reading ‘Comme des Garçons Homme’. Finished with drawstrings and welt pockets, the overcoat is tagged as a size medium and is in pristine condition throughout.
