  • Jun Takahashi’s Autumn 2002 collection titled ‘Witches Cell Division’ explored disruptive tropes of antichrist ideologies and transformative robots. Plastering crosses atop velour trousers, bombers and necklaces, the designer was clear in his intent to ignite controversy. In correlation with a discovery of hybrid textiles, Takahashi paired contrasting fabrics with a precise yet effortless approach, allowing for some rather mutinous, franken-esque garments to surface. Furthering the sacrilegious theme, items would read ‘Rebel Gods’ and ‘Heaven Hell’, in a direct mutiny of the Christian religion. Takahashi aimed to provoke the traditions of the fashion circuit, and in doing so, established himself as a respected Japanese creative.

Debuting in Jun Takahashi’s Autumn 2002 ‘Witches Cell’ collection, this incredibly rare jacket features a hand painted emblem on the underside and asymmetric studding on either shoulder. Reading ‘Judgement’ just above a dissected side profile, ‘Guilty or Not Guilty’ lettering sits towards the bottom hem. Accented with cheetah patterning on the jacket’s zipper lining among asymmetric studs on the front and back, zippered welt pockets come in pair with belting and a slim cut. As the only one ever listed online, this jacket is a relic of the past and is unlikely to be seen for sale again. Tagged as a size small, fitting oversized, in pristine condition throughout.
