  • Founding his menswear label in 1984, Jean Paul Gaultier was plagued as “l’enfant terrible” for his outlandish, inexcusable designs. Consciously reconstructing our vision of beauty, he experimented without remorse, drawing inspiration from from taboo fetishes and romanticizing femininity in the menswear realm. Utilizing rebellious textiles, Gaultier conveyed his message through inventive mediums, popularizing the mesh full print silhouette. Stomping on guidelines in pursuit of creative expression, Gaultier is now hailed as a fashion forefather and true Magnus opus in his field.

Deriving from Gaultier’s Autumn 2003 collection, this skin fitting long sleeve is a testament to the designer’s creative ability. With a nearly identical graphic on either side, a suited man sits in the foreground of a daunting rustic clock, following down the sleeves and even towards the hem. The character is fitted with blindfolding sunglasses among a tailored suit, tie and series of graphic pins. Tagged as a mens size medium, this piece fits slightly oversized and is in pristine condition overall.
