AW05 Dsquared2 ‘Jesus Loves Even Me’ Church Knitted Cowichan

Dean and Dan’s Autumn 2005 collection at their eponymous Dsquared2 label centred around religious hues. Staged with mock Church pews lining the runway, bursts of Kanye West’s ‘Jesus Walks’ would echo through high-ceilings and white walls, ditching the ranch for a rather Godly aesthetic. With tokens of faith scattered throughout the collection, cross motifs, the Shroud of Turin, and Angel spell outs would plague garments of all sizes, contrasting the sexy, skinny bottoms found just below the waist. Opposing the rather conservative Church-wear we’re accustomed to, the designer collective would bring steam to Sunday service with tight fits, leather jackets and fur.

 

Debuting in the Fall of 2005, this knitted cowichan remains as a centrepiece of Dsquared2’s iconic collection. Reading ‘Jesus Loves Even Me’ in a bold white two-tone font, the lettering is encircled with yellow trim on the underside and complimented by Church motifs on the face. With a high collar and heavyweight metallic zipper, the knit is finalized with a leather pull tab and a ‘D2’ logo on the cuff. Tagged as a size medium, in pristine condition throughout.
