AW11 Phenomenon 3D ‘Cross’ MA-1 Reversible Fur Bomber Jacket

Takeshi Osumi triples as the founder of Swagger, Phenomenon and Mistergentleman. With a predominant interest in music, he founded Phenomenon 5 years after his initial debut in the streetwear scene (1999). Referencing The Notorious B.I.G’s hit single ‘Rap Phenomenon’, Osumi, who also works as an MC, strived to create with a distinct emphasis on his rhythmic style. Producing highly personal, eccentric wear, Phenomenon made it to the runway in 2010, while also partnering with MCM that same year. Truly solidifying the Japanese label in view of public eyes, Osumi would pass away in February of 2021, leaving behind an untouched legacy at 47 years of age.

 

Debuting in the Autumn of 2011, this bomber jacket stands among the heights of Phenomenon’s portfolio. A 3D padded cross motif sits atop the underside, in pair with a removable, button snap fur collar. The circumference is lined with aluminum wiring, allowing the wearer to distort the neckline to any desired shape. With an MA-1 pocket on the sleeve, lightning detailing coats the interior, finalized with the label’s signature Star shaped hardware and a nylon base.
