AW16 Issey Miyake x Kenji Hirasawa ‘Thermal’ Portrait Long Sleeve Shirt
For Issey Miyake’s Fall 2016 collection, the designer opted to collaborate with Kenji Hirasawa, a Japanese thermographic photographer. Hirasawa has been capturing the non-visual aspects of our reality since 2004, “Visualisation of the non-visual world questions human perception and the value of the existing visualised world”. Through, red, green, blue and yellow tones, the artisan is able to reveal our shared emotional common grounds without restrictive measures of language. Not does he highlight our expressive differences, but also showcases our expressive similarities as well. Our ideals may not shine through demeanour, but through temperature, they retain a persistent authenticity.
Deriving from Kenji Hirasawa’s 2009 collection, this long sleeve shirts features a still of Vincent Garnier from Hirasawa’s ‘Portrait’ series. Complete with baby blue blocking, the straight shot is printed atop a black base, accented by blue stitching and a slim cut. In great condition throughout, tagged as a size large.
