AW17 Moncler x Greg Lauren ‘Collide’ Reworked Denim Puffer Trench Coat

Moncler’s Autumn 2017 experiment with Greg Lauren only further proved the French label’s placement in the world of couture. As one of the year’s most highly anticipated releases, together the two figure-heads would work to create ‘imperfect perfection’, built upon a pedestal of absolute uniqueness. Blending Moncler’s slope-centric trademark Bedouins with Lauren’s structural approach to design, together they’d contrast deconstruction with reconstruction to make for one of the most prestigious efforts in recent history. Chopping up signature Moncler puffers like the Maya, Bady and Moka to infuse them with Lauren’s hand selected, aged denim, each piece would in turn tell a story of either brand’s heritage and unique design philosophies. Colliding such elegant silhouettes with Greg Lauren’s rough militaristic hues would bring out the strongest traits in either brand’s DNA, as seen in the variety of hand crafted hoodies, bottoms and of course, overcoats.

Debuting in the Autumn of 2017, this hybrid jacket stands as the collision’s centrepiece. Repurposing Moncler’s famed Moka puffer, an olive green reinforced denim accents the sleeves, hood and bottom hem to create a three-quarter length trench silhouette. Padding the shoulders with a thermal textile, thrashed metallic hardware plagues each button clasp, in pair with a zippered split hood and top-loading cargo pockets on the body. Tassels then hang from metal detail, in pair with a dyed lamb fur-lined hood and signature Moncler logo on the sleeve. Finalized with a handwritten Greg Lauren tag on the collar, this jacket is tagged as a size large, and is in pristine condition throughout.
