AW18 Louis Vuitton ‘Peace & Love’ Black Graphic T-Shirt

Kim Jones’ Autumn 2018 collection at the Louis Vuitton Maison marked the conclusion of a 7 year venture. Inducted in 2011, the British designer took the helm of LV as menswear creative director, drawing from streetwear tropes under an affluent spotlight. Jones was able to redefine ‘luxury’, maintain clientele, and engage a new variety of consumers, all while shifting the direction of fashion’s most coveted label. His portfolio would act as the precursor to Virgil Abloh’s empire, where he would expand the core characteristics that defined Jones’ work. As a final bow, his Autumn ‘18 showing would focus on the topic of travel, a reoccurring theme that summarized him as a designer. Utility hiking boots, nylon multi-layered trench coats, and of course, the infamous ‘Peace and Love’ sweater would all walk as a final exit.

 

Described as a “souvenir of his tenure”, the Peace & Love graphic has become a symbol of Kim Jones’ unprecedented stature. Printed atop a white graphic t-shirt, two fingers sit in harmony among Louis Vuitton’s signature calligraphy. Accompanied by lettering just beneath, ‘Peace And Love’ reads in a rather waif font, reminding us of the creative’s rise to infamy. In great condition throughout, tagged as a size large.
