Mihara Yasuhiro’s Autumn 2021 collection revolved around the ever-ticking clock. Dreaming of deserted past times, the Japanese designer opted to speak through tropes of age, reminiscing on days of youth through fabric and space. Set in a closed bar Yasuhiro frequented as an adolescent, he would unveil an unforgettable show, exploring the process vintage clothing endures through a contemporary lens. Toying with denim and rigid cotton textiles, an assortment of repaired hybrid pieces sat among thrashed cuts and distorted overlays. Accented by a tonal palette, his silhouettes would walk in militaristic, oversized hues, exemplifying Yasuhiro’s distinct literacy in the world of design. As a result, the creative continues to reinvent our perceptions of his namesake label, experimenting in spite of the industry’s complacency.
Debuting in look 36/42, these insane hybrid cargos exemplify Yasuhiro’s vision for his Autumn 2021 collection. With an oversized fit, their wide cut is accented by a split denim overlay, shadowing an olive green cargo base on the right leg. In pair with a draping belt mechanism, distressing throughout and raw hems, the knee is synched with a velcro base, while the cuff flares outwards. Metallic hardware finalizes their utilitarian aura, in new with tags condition, fitting a size 33x28.5 with a dropped 15 inch rise.
