Mihara Yasuhiro’s Autumn 2021 collection revolved around the ever-ticking clock. Dreaming of deserted past times, the Japanese designer opted to speak through tropes of age, reminiscing on days of youth through fabric and space. Set in a closed bar Yasuhiro frequented as an adolescent, he would unveil an unforgettable show, exploring the process vintage clothing endures through a contemporary lens. Toying with denim and rigid cotton textiles, an assortment of repaired hybrid pieces sat among thrashed cuts and distorted overlays. Accented by a tonal palette, his silhouettes would walk in militaristic, oversized hues, exemplifying Yasuhiro’s distinct literacy in the world of design. As a result, the creative continues to reinvent our perceptions of his namesake label, experimenting in spite of the industry’s complacency.
Debuting in look 36/42, these insane hybrid bottoms exemplify Yasuhiro’s vision for his Autumn 2021 collection. With an oversized fit, their wide cut is accented by a split denim overlay, shadowing a blue denim base on the right leg with black patch working. Coming in pair with a double layered button fly, distressing is found alongside raw hems as well. Metallic hardware finalizes the pant’s utilitarian aura,, fitting a size 30x29 with an 11 inch rise.
