AW21 Takahiro Miyashita the Soloist x Suicoke ‘Five Finger’ Gorilla Toe Chelsea

Takahiro Miyashita’s eponymous label, ‘Takahiro Miyashita the Soloist’, was founded in 2010 after a decline in the Japanese designer’s mental health. Having closed his widely famed Nunber (N)ine namesake the year prior — his last season being Autumn 2009, Miyashita stepped foot with a new vision for the future. Designing for himself, the Soloist, Miyashita strayed from reference intensive design principles and began creating in a technical fashion. Adapting newfound visions for multi-faceted wear, he mixed the likes of sport and utility, making for a series of dystopian, silhouette focused fittings. Today, Takahiro Miyashita continues to prosper in under the now decade old namesake, reinventing our perceptions of contemporary clothing.

Debuting in the Autumn of 2021, these unique ‘Gorilla Toe’ boots come as a collaboration between footwear brand Suicoke and Takahiro Miyashita the Soloist. Featuring individual toe slots in a black leather base, side zipper accents come complete with a vibram sole and hybrid Chelsea boot silhouette. Tagged as a size US 9.5, they’re in pristine condition throughout.
