AW98 General Research ‘Parasite’ 10 Cargo Pocket Bucket Hat
General Research’s 1998 ‘Parasite’ collection has garnered mass infamy since debut. Influencing many of today’s maximal utilitarian trends, the collection can be accredited as the origin of highly functional absurdity, plastering hundreds of pockets atop tactical wear. Walking bulletproof vests among coveralls and 100-pocket puffer jackets, Kobayashi Setsumasa (GR’s founder & creative director) worked to surpass practicality through rigid textiles and intricate patterning techniques. Dawning a new age in technical design, he would work to innovative in a newly saturated field, among the likes of Helmut Lang and Dolce & Gabbana.
Debuting in 1998, 10 pockets encompass this headpiece in a circular fashion. Spiral stitching sits atop the brim, among a camo exterior and rigid textile. In pristine condition throughout, one size fits all.
