Raf Simons at Calvin Klein was an unprecedented move back in 2016. Calvin Klein was the third major label for the prolific designer and expectations were high, but Simons’ vision was slightly ahead of it’s time. Despite being accredited as some of the designer’s best work, the contract was ultimately cut short after just 2 years as a result of public outcry.

Raf Simons cemented a framework his first two seasons CK, allowing for wild and creative endeavours during the next 8 shows. He let his artistic self lose with experimental and design intensive garments, showcasing an androgynous line which focused around eccentric textiles and display mediums to pair. Footwear was a focal point for the Belgian designer, meshing incredibly well with his idea of unisex clothing. He blended the lines of mens and womenswear while still defining each, showcased incredibly well in the boots shown. Raf Simons creates a stark contrast between metallic accents and the roaring cherry red suede upper, the finished with a wood sole and a rubberized heel tab. He creates with intent to last, in great condition aside from use on the underside. Tagged as a size 39.
