Dolce & Gabbana’s step into the new millennia was refreshing by all accounts. Introducing silhouettes akin to utility, the label immersed themselves under a militaristic persona. Popularized by designers like Helmut Lang, the tactical revolt provided a new take on utilitarian traditions. Incorporating luxury furs and expert tailoring, founders Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce unapologetically pushed the envelope, straying far from their classic Italian roots. In the heat of the anti-fashion movement, experiment was encouraged and Gabbana embraced it. Using their power as an established maison, the duo was able to create timeless staples, regarded as the brand’s “golden era”.
Debuting in the Fall of 2004, this pair of denim features patched lettering across either thigh. Reading ‘Love’, the designer distresses the perimeter of each motif while putting emphasis on sporadic oil detailing. Complete with metallic hardware, a gold ‘DG’ back patch and navy blue wash, fitting a size 34x30.5 in great condition throughout.
