Takahiro Miyashita’s Fall 2006 collection strayed from the “street” aesthetic seen in previous seasons. Named “Noir”, Miyahsita opted for a matured style and gothic themes, using black (as the title alludes) as a constant. Tailored wear such as trousers, napoleon style jackets and combat boots ran seamlessly throughout, showcasing a new derivative from his classic work. “Noir”, set on a dim runway, seated the audience close to the provoking models, lined on either side as the intimidating vessels walked.

 

A focal point of the fall 2006 runway was undoubtably a use of jewellery. Gruelling skulls hung from the necks of many models as they strut in cohesion, comprised from only the heights of raw material. Teaming up with Miyashita’s go-to craftsmen Jam Home Made, together the two created an assortment of highly sought after rings and necklaces. Showcased above, the multi-pendant necklace features 7 skulls, alongside a moveable centrepiece. Draping down the neckline when worn, the signature crying heart motif is inscribed in the back of each skull as well. In great condition throughout, spanning 18 inches in length.
