Crafted with one of the most elaborate printing techniques, the River Thames (London, UK) and surrounding area is printed atop a mesh navy base. The method uses negative space such as the river itself to print in silhouette, meaning the base garment is apart of the graphic. Westminster, the London Docks, buildings, and houses are all sketched from an overhead, monochromatic view, comprising each line of base netting. Seeing as Alexander McQueen was born in Lewisham, London, it’s apparent Sarah Burton - the creative director of the label is paying homage to her forerunner.
