FW17 Dolce & Gabbana Full Size Polar Bear Faux Fur Plush Backpack

Dolce & Gabbana’s Fall 2017 collection was centred around tropes of youth. Steffano Gabbana inaugurated his first runway show at the ripe age of 19, yet 35 odd years later he continues to impress with provoking and somewhat thoughtful collections. With age in mind, the designer looked to his predecessors for the Fall 2017 viewing, enlisting generational icons to actualize his ideas. In stark contrast to traditional runway procedures, the duo invited influencers and celebrities alike to walk the runway themselves. “These guys are representative of millions of young people. We are not so young anymore. So it’s very interesting for us to try to understand what they love and don’t love.” the duo stated. Industry names like Luka Sabbat, Cameron Dallas and Brandon Thomas Lee were all seen atop the catwalk, granted full creative control in regard to their fittings. What resulted was a hectic, playful spin on the rather intense circuit we’re use to, bringing life back to the runway.

 

Epitomizing the child-like play Dolce & Gabbana strived for, this full size polar bear is one of many plush teddys that walked the runway. Popularized on the back of Lil Uzi Vert’s ‘Luv is Rage 2’ album cover, this ice blue iteration features a faux fur exterior and leather detailing throughout. Complete with a zippered torso and storage compartment, shoulder straps are fastened to each paw, making it look as if the wearer is simply giving a furry friend a lift. D&G is embroidered on either lower paw, finalized with a printed interior. In pristine condition throughout.
