Created in partnership with Kim Jones and Japanese artist Hajime Sorayama, the Dior Homme Pre-Fall 2017 collection explored topics of post-modernist utility. Akin to the ethos of Sorayama’s work, a polished, futuristic vibe was congruent throughout, with a clear focus on full print textiles. Walking through a web of cherry blossom flooring, models sported monogram fembot graphics and razor sharp tailoring. Silver hardware plated hems and in some cases extended to the skin itself, emulating a dystopian, cyborg appearance. Cargo vests, pants and bags were a consistent theme as well, complimented by rollercoaster buckles and iridescent puffer jackets. In all, the collection paid homage to Christian Dior’s infatuation with Picasso, revitalized in today’s lens.
Debuting in the first of forty five looks, this prized turtleneck features 3D detailing and technical subtleties. Embedded into the sweater, protruding seams jump from the contrasting wool base, and are accented by white darting throughout. Hajime Soryama’s take on the Dior logo sits atop the chest, finalized a rolling, striped neck. Tagged as a size large, in pristine condition.
