Moving to the United States in 1983, James Jebbia settled in Staten Island, New York. Opening Supreme’s doors in 1994, the underground skate brand would grow rapidly, ripping off Barbara Kruger’s motif to create the infamous ‘Box Logo’. The label embodied an rebellious attitude, attracting skaters and outcasts alike while retaining authenticity over a two decade reign. Today, Supreme is hailed as a magnus opus in it’s field, redefining the parameters of a street and luxury brand.
Debuting in the Fall 2019 collection, this sweater pays homage to The Smiths’ 1985 album ‘Meat is Murder’. Altering the lettering to read “Supreme is Love”, the sweater comes in a monochromatic palette, depicting a battered solider, which doubles as the Smiths’ album cover. Tagged as a size medium, in great condition throughout.
