Founded in 2000 by Issey Miyake, HaaT is a label conceived from three words. “Haat” being the first, defined as the vastly diverse village markets in Sanskrit - Miyake intends to incorporate similar diversity within his own label. The second being “heart” in English, reflecting the love and tedious design ingrained into each garment. Lastly, Hindi for hands, ”haath” showcases the blend in Japanese design and traditional Indian craftsmanship. All of which then meshed with Issey Miyake’s forward thinking and leadership, HaaT blends modern technology with years of expertise.
Weaving a galaxy-esque pattern into a boxing short silhouette, this garment depicts HaaT extremely well. The labour intensive efforts put forth into a graphic of this caliber are fascinating, interlocking thread to formulate a cryptic motif throughout. Finalized with matte accenting and a stunning cut, these shorts fit a 29 inch waist and 9.75 inch inseam - in pristine condition throughout.
