SS16 Prada “Panorama” Digtial Print Short-sleeve Camp Collar
Prada’s Spring 2016 collection brought androgyny, prints and ambivalence, dabbling in the eccentrics of gender while toying with silhouette. Walking cuts typically regarded as feminine, Prada doubled in the ethos of masculinity, intertwining each and rejecting pervasive norms. While both men and women strut the runway, an absence of conformity was prevalent, and allowed viewers to question their preconceived notions. Much of the palette was tonal, although in typical Prada fashion, few eye-catching pieces strut with dominance and commanded attention.
Miuccia Prada’s taste in contemporary art has glistened through each stroke and detail of her iconic camp collar silhouettes. Many wearing an embedded illustration from the hands of Christophe Chemin or Universal Studios, the designer has highlighted an array of contemporary artists in a stylistic medium. Prevalent in the Spring 2016 collection, the digitized graphic shown was unveiled, remaining one of the maison’s most gripping to date. Statues stand tall, while vibrant chaos ensues in the background, leading viewers through a glitched reality. In pristine condition throughout, tagged as an double extra-large while fitting an extra-large.
