SS02 Raf Simons Fear Generation “Ready to Ignite” Graphic T-Shirt

$200.00Price
  • Raf Simons' Spring 2002 collection titled “Woe Onto Those Who Spit on the Fear Generation… The Wind Will Blow it Back” speaks to the informality and victims of war. Preceding 9/11 by nine months and the G8 riots by six, this collection is commonly misinterpreted as a glamorization of terror fittings. However, Simons instead calls on protesters of war and peace keepers alike, emulating the feeling of unrest among the general populous. Models walk barefoot with flares and ski masks in a predominantly white palette, symbolic of hope in dire times. Being one of Simons’ earliest collaborations with Peter de Potter, the Spring 2002 collection has garnered unanimous grail status among archivists.

Reading “We Are Ready And Willing To Ignite Just Born Too Late”, this tee was unveiled in look 59/76, sporting baggy trousers and a draping overcoat. Encapsulating the rebellious aura Simons’ intended, Peter de Potter can be accredited to the origins of the bold text. Running down the shirt in a linear manner, the graphic is printed atop a washed slate grey blank, which has quite a bit of stretch when worn. Tagged as a size 46, fitting a slim medium, in great condition throughout.
