SS03 Dolce & Gabbana ‘3D’ Cargo Pocket Metallic Hunting Jacket

Dolce & Gabbana’s Spring 2003 collection unveiled a new direction for the Italian Maison. Experimenting with tropes of utility, the runway bled of cargo pockets and metallic hardware, retaining militaristic themes in a rather muted palette. Accent colours like cherry red stood out among earth tones, similar to the three dimensional jackets and bondage strap details that synched each bottom. Full zip trousers flared to create a bellowing silhouette while knitted tank tops fit skin-tight atop the upper. Aviation jackets, asymmetric sweaters and crossbody bags sat among the primary ideals of function, finalizing the collection as a precursor to Dolce & Gabbana’s infamous Autumn 2003 season.

 

Accentuating the collection’s militaristic hues, this bomber features an array of 3D cargo pockets atop an ash grey cotton base. Metallic detailing clasps each compartment with button and zipper fixtures, among synching leather belts. An MA-1 style pocket sits alomg the right sleeve, complemented by 13 other cargo details, some of which are hidden inside others. Finalized with light tone hems, fitting a size large, with an array of interior repairs and some discolouration throughout.
