SS04 Junya Watanabe ‘Barbed Wire’ Tan Painted Cargo Pants
Junya Watanabe’s Spring 2004 collection carried a utilitarian trope through cargo pockets and tonal prints. Clashing hunting bags with trousers, occasional suiting and earthy patterning, runway fittings were adorned with top-loading pocket belts and crossbody’s. Through widely slim cuts, the season retained subtly, while bringing forth unique graphics and silhouettes.
Debuting in the widely undocumented Spring 2004 collection, the barbed wire graphic comes as staple of the runway. Painted atop a tan base, the two tone garment is accented with a prisoner-like serial number on the bottom hem. Finalized with diamond cut pockets and reinforced seams on either leg, this piece is in great condition aside from a missing button on the waist band, fitting a size 30x28.
