Jun Takahashi’s Spring 2004 collection titled “Languid” focused on the duality of self-perception and the accompanied distortion. Exclusively selecting identical twins to strut the catwalk, Takashi paralleled each look with one equally as skewed. From stung-out necklines to sharp dagger collars, the designer strived to contrast with asymmetry, using these devices to project a narrative. As the final look paraded down the runway, lettering read “Join up and break free” atop a white oversized t-shirt, encouraging onlookers to embrace both their uniform stature and anarchistic personas.
Deriving from the atypical side of “Languid”, this distorted cross necklace was debuted in pair with it’s conservative silhouette. Being the alternative motif, this accessory moves in varied regard, hanging from a rope at interchangeable length. Spanning 18.5 inches, 15.5 being adjustable, the low hanging accomplice remain as a great layering piece. In pristine condition throughout.
