SS06 Dior Homme by Hedi Slimane Perforated Mesh Flag Tank Top

Hedi Slimane’s Spring 2006 collection titled “The World Was a Mess, But His Hair Was Perfect”, brought glamour, prep and all things rock n’ roll. Evolving the waif figure Slimane had shocked the world with just a few years prior, skinny suspenders paired with eccentric glitter jeans in an unprecedented crossover of niche. The excitement was found in full prints and use of textile, accenting the charm of a full print medium. Slimane was attentive of figure as always, complimenting low rise jeans with cropped sequin jackets to exaggerate the thin profile well. His mastery in cohesion and class is spoken in of itself, but the Spring 2006 collection perfectly embodied this premise, now regarded as a height in his portfolio.

Deriving from look 31, this full print tank top features a perforated mesh base and layered textile. Creating a British flag, the fabric uses white negative space to illustrate the pattern, leaving the layered inner hems unsewn. Using a harsh contrast and incredible choice of textile, the sleeveless tank is a stand out among the collection. Fitting a size medium, in great condition throughout.
