SS10 Gucci Tech Parachute Bondage Strap Leather Sneakers

Frida Giannini’s Spring 2010 collection reimagined the technical side of the luxury maison. Walking utilitarian silhouettes with cargo pockets, bondage straps and loose fitting textiles, the contrast from Gucci’s traditional jet-chic aesthetic was harsh, but executed beautifully. Models were seen in a white, futuristic palette with mere accents of jewelry and tonal accessories, furthering the dystopian mantra. In all, the collection accentuated Gucci’s mechanical aspect while staying true to the namesake’s oath of affluence.

 

Debuting in look 13 of 45, the parachute sneaker shown features a white leather base and spiralling belts. Metallic clasps sit in for laces and instead course through buttoned nylon hardware, finalized with black contrasting seams. Fitting a size US 9.5, in good condition aside from light discolouring and use.
