SS15 Comme des Garçons ‘Jugo’ Black Leather Pointed Boots
Rei Kawakubo’s Spring 2015 Homme collection is certainly one of her most memorable in recent years. Walking jet black slicked wigs and elongated, pointed boots dubbed the ‘Jugo’ silhouette, this theatric and wildly puzzling runway left many with more questions than answers. Blending exotic cheetah prints with abstract patterns and oversized trench coats, a militaristic feel was tied together with safari hits and expert tailoring. Through mesh, polka dots, linear zebra stripes and barbed wire, Kawakubo brought viewers into her scattered mind this season.
Debuting in the Spring of 2015, this iconic pair of ‘Jugo’ boots come as a museum level grail. Originally retailing at a staggering $6,500 USD, they reference traditional Mexican ‘Guarachero’ boots which feature a much longer toe box and are typically used for dancing to electronic house or tribal music. Originally dating back to 2002, the original designer for this style of footwear is unknown, but they have since gained a staggering amount of popularity in both Mexico, Texas, Tennessee, Mississippi and Oklahoma. Tagged as a Japanese size 29 cm or 11.5 US, these come in great condition throughout.
