Miuccia Prada’s Spring 2018 collection was brought to life through the strokes of James Jean, Tarpe Mills, Fiona Staples and Trina Robins. Enlisting each cartoonist and manga artist to create an array of digital imagery, she contrasted our virtual and physical ideals. Splitting the garments in two, she portrayed our developing technological personas and mechanisms we now rely on. Acknowledging our electronic presence as an extension of the human reputation, Prada demonstrates one’s own social and virtual divide.
Debuting in a light hue of blush pink, this camp collar depicts the human evolution from chimp to modern day. Through a collage of images, James Jean presents both base level monkeys, as well as futuristic androids. Cartoon-style sketches are inked with hues of deep reds and complimenting pinks, while black bordering runs throughout. Fitting a boxy size medium, in great condition throughout.
