SS19 Louis Vuitton by Virgil Abloh Sky Blue Nylon Cargo Pants

Virgil Abloh’s debut collection at the Louis Vuitton maison was unveiled in Fall of 2018, Paris. Stationed outdoors, a multi-coloured runway lined with friends, family and supporters alike eagerly awaited the designer’s induction under the Louis Vuitton namesake. Being the label’s first African American designer since establishment in 1815, this showing was monumental both socially and in regard to the fashion industry. Choosing the rainbow as his muse, he cited his vision to that of white light passing through a prism - the effect in which divides each ray into a slew of composite tints. Using symbolism as an ode to universal inclusiveness, he welcomed all differences, be it racial, ethnic or gender based. While the clothing was incredibly tailored and eccentric in it’s own regard, the true beauty of Spring 2019 lies in the relentless inspiration pushed by Virgil Abloh himself, summed by the collection’s following quote, “You can do it too”.

 

Debuting in look 38/56, these vibrant sky blue cargo pants embody the designer’s otherworldly vision for the age-old namesake. Featuring metallic accents and a nylon exterior, the silhouette bellows when worn, stacking due to an array adjustable hems. Asymmetric detailing runs from either cargo pocket and is paired with a zippered pouch on on the underside as well, finalized with buttoned hand compartments near the crest. In pristine condition throughout aside from a loose interior button, fitting a size 32x31.
