SS20 Louis Vuitton by Virgil Abloh ‘Chain’ Woven Charcoal Denim

Virgil Abloh’s Spring 2020 collection at the Louis Vuitton Maison was an investigation of time, evolution and youth. Emerging from the wall, a reference to the cult-classic film ‘The Truman Show’, models walked down a set of sky blue stairs before landing on the runway. Immersing viewers in a child-like universe, clouds coated the floors as fittings weaved between wildly oversized tools and exaggerated objects. In such a playful environment, Abloh opted to shift his focus from street silhouettes and explore razor sharp tailoring instead. Bringing life to the dull wardrobe of a working man, the designer reminds his audience to take life a little less seriously, sending clocks that ticked backwards as a show invite. From cloudy duffles, fur trenches and shirts layered atop other shirts, Virgil Abloh invites us to imagine with the spirit of youth, and redefine our perceptions without the burden of age.

 

Carrying the collection’s youthful trope, this pair of jeans features a charcoal base with interlocking chains spiralling down either leg. Woven into the denim, a back leather jacron label is embossed with LV monogramming, among branded silver hardware and a rigid base. In new with tags condition, these bottoms fit a size 30x34 and are in pristine condition throughout.
