SS20 Rick Owens UNRELEASED SAMPLE 1/4 ‘Banana’ Cowboy Kiss Heels
Rick Owens’ Spring 2020 collection titled ‘Teruatl’ took to the designer’s Southern roots in Mexico, exploring his long-neglected heritage just past the border. Having recently travelled to his mother’s homeland for the first time in 30 years, Owens’ attempted to showcase the obscure relationship between himself and his ancestors. The title, a derivative of his Grandmother’s maiden name, was just one of the many aspects that defined this collection. From a striking yellow palette to an array of relaxed fittings, we were pleasantly greeted with very wearable pieces, a stark contrast to many of Owens’ maximalist showings. Now, that’s not to say there weren’t some hits of absurdity, found in Kiss Heels and Megalace bottoms, but would it even be a Rick show with some ridiculousness? Besides utilitarian design was all the rage this season, and Owens was here to prove it.
Debuting on the runway of Rick Owens’ Spring 2020 collection, this incredible pair of kiss heel cowboy boots come as an unreleased 1/4 sample. Cancelled during production, the high top leather footwear comes complete with metallic eyelet accents, a bright banana hue upper and clear heel. In pristine condition throughout and tagged as a size 41 EU or US 8, these are an extremely rare pair of boots and are unlikely to surface for a price this low ever again.
