SS22 Kidsuper Studios ‘Kiss’ 3D Tonal Asymmetric Puffer Jacket

KidSuper’s Spring 2022 collection revolved around one peculiar question; What do you want to do before you die? While short and sweet, the sentiment attracts a slew of thought provoking insight, which is why Colm Dillane, the label’s founder, interviewed 300 New Yorkers with this exact query. Of those interviewed, the team selected a few individuals to make their dreams come true, be it “fall in love”, “skydive” or perhaps even “raft down the Hudson River” (while playing chess of course). Compiled into an 18 minute visual, the label’s last digital debut would shock followers of the brand as Dillane strayed from the traditions of couture once again. Breaking through the runway’s often restrictive 4th wall, viewers were invited to experience KidSuper’s Spring ‘22 collection through an immersive, predicative light.

 

Requesting followers send portraits and selfies to the label’s Instagram, Colm Dillane would work alongside his team to incorporate the many faces behind KidSuper Spring ‘22. Each print that showcases a face would be one of the consumer’s own, creating a wildly personal connection the runway itself. Exemplified in the collection’s standout piece, the ‘Kiss’ puffer jacket, two distorted profiles are seen intimately, sharing a moment of affection through a tonal palette. Abstract buttoning runs atop the zippered seam, and is complimented by a wide cut and welt pocketing. In new with tags condition, this piece is tagged as a size medium and fits oversized.
