SS98 Hysteric Glamour Indigo Snake Pattern Skinny Denim
Shown is the infamous Spring Summer 1998 Hysteric Glamour Indigo Snake Pattern Denim. Hysteric Glamour is a Japanese label known for redefining the lines between streetwear and luxury, blending the modern take of each with innovative design. Nobuhiko “Nobu” Kitamura (Hysteric Glamour’s founder) began his career at youth-oriented fashion label “Ozone Community”, 1984. Here Kitamura, like many Japanese designers, became fascinated with Western Punk Rock culture. He took this new found inspiration, respectfully departed from the Ozone label and created Hysteric Glamour. His brand would garner traction throughout the years, subsequently becoming a staple in Japanese street culture.
This specific pair of denim is undisputedly the most iconic and sought after Hysteric Glamour garment of all time. The graphic depicts interlocking snakes spiralling from the ankle up, running front, back and throughout the inner thigh. This incredible patterning technique creates a seemingly endless illusion, allowing for the ingenuity Kitamura possess to shine through. Releasing in 1998, the denim debuted in a variety of colours, exclusively appearing in women’s sizing. Subsequently, this garment has become nearly impossible to obtain in a men’s fit. However, the garment showcased is in great condition and is tagged as a size medium, or 29x26. Take the opportunity to purchase a stunning pair of Hysteric Glamour Black Snake Denim today, at a great price.
