SS98 Hysteric Glamour ‘Snake’ Spiral Motif Black Denim
Hysteric Glamour, founded by Nobuhiko “Nobu” Kitamura in 1984, has prospered through the ties of both luxury and streetwear for over four decades. Beginning his career at the youth-oriented fashion label “Ozone Community”, Nobu quickly became obsessed with the tropes of Western culture. Taking this newfound inspiration, he left his position and embarked on an sole journey under namesake “Hysteric Glamour”. First rising to fame in the local Harajuku scene, the label would eventually become a staple of Japanese and Americana style, amassing a cult-like following for their distinct street aesthetic.
Residing as Hysteric Glamour’s prized motif, the Spring 1998 ‘snake’ pattern has become an eponymous emblem of the Japanese label. Spiralling down either leg, reptiles are illustrated in a perpetuating motion, plaguing both the denim’s face and underside. Accented with metallic detailing throughout, the two tone graphic makes for a gorgeous contrast against the black pigment while creating a 3D effect when worn. Released in extremely limited quantities, these bottoms fit a size 27x27 and are in pristine condition throughout.
