One of the renowned members of the Antwerp Six, Ann Demeulemeester launched her namesake brand in 1985, shortly after graduating from The Royal Academy of Fine Arts in 1981. As one of the first designers ever to have men and women walk cohesively in a runway show, Demeulemeester’s work has pioneered androgynous style through her bodies of effortlessly minimalistic, yet elegant work. With over 30 years of persistent effort, the designer has established a portfolio examining the intricacies of textiles, focusing on perfecting minute features, until satisfied. In doing so, the designer has achieved an illustrious persona, now considered a fashion forefather and highly respected individual.
